Before shaykh Saalih As-Suhaymi starts, he wanted to criticize the point of Shaykh Abdul Majed that he was a scholar, he states that he doesn’t consider himself as scholar rather students of the scholars. Then he starts with his first advice which is to have Taqwa – fear of Allah openly and in secret, in hardship and in ease, because this was the command of Allah to the first and the last. As Allah said, “O you who believe, have taqwa of Allah and be with the truthful” and also “Advice you and those who were given book before you have taqwa of Allah.” Then Shaykh gives his second advice saying that these are the manners every student of knowledge must adorn themselves with, it is that student of knowledge start with what Allah started with, it is to have understanding of the Aqeedah, upon the understanding of the Salaf-us-Saleh. Third thing Shaykh advised with is to have Ikhlahs for Allah alone, in seeking knowledge, as seeking knowledge is a blessed action and it is worship as well. We draw closer to Allah be seeking knowledge and so it is mandatory to have ikhlas in seeking knowledge, doing it seeking the face of Allah alone. Then he went to mention the saying of our Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, where he said, knowledge comes through seeking it just as forbearance comes through ones trying. After that, he advised us to adorn ourselves with beautiful characters and morals, the manners laid out by the Qur'an and the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam. | Topic: Make Sure What you Hear is Truth & Stick to Seeking Legislative Knowledge Date: Past Seminars Length: 6:18 Minutes Language: Arabic / English Lecturer: Shaykh Saaleh As-Suhaymee |
| Description: Shaykh started with the saying that it is upon these people to take the issues to the major scholars. Many people have come now, they hear something over the new Medias such as internet, so they hear a problem between this person and that person, and perhaps someone busying themselves with these issues will go astray and become misguided. This is because these news’s are not accurate, and they give these issues more attention than they really deserve. So do not listen to these stuffs spread over online or other than it. The last advice of the shaykh although he has more advice in his heart, is issue of tathabbut, which is that you make sure what you hear, is truth. It is that you do not go and tell others everything you hear. Don’t be like radio and spread all that you hear. The prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said it is enough lie that one says everything one hears. This is something noticed from people who do not seek knowledge like the salaf, that they busy themselves with that which hinders their seeking of knowledge, things that doesn't deserve their attention. Maybe he read something in magazines or online or other means, he goes and tells others. Therefore what was small at the beginning but ends up as fire due to their busying selves with these issues. Then Shaykh advised that stick to seeking of legislative knowledge, which gets you closer to Allah, and be consistent upon that. And also write the knowledge down as the points of benefit comes up as it is very important. Shaykh said he has more advice and he will give more as days goes by but for now act on what you have heard. | |

| Topic: Legislative Guidelines to Deal with those who Opposes Ahlus Sunnah Date: Past Seminars Length: 4:13 Minutes Language: Arabic / English Lecturer: Shaykh S’ad Naasir Ash-Shithri |
| Description: Shaykh started with praising Allah and sending salat and salam on the prophet and then he went on to comment on what Shaykh Saleh said, that the ulama say, the Sharia comes with what the intellect may find strange or confused about, not what intellect considers to be impossible. Questioner says, what are the legislative guideline to deal with the groups that opposes ahlus sunnah? Answer: Shaykh says that the sects that are in opposition to Ahlus Sunnah are of two types:
And the base rule to consider a group to be out of Islam is that the group has denied either of the two testimonies, either they direct the worship to other than Allah or they deny that the Muhammad sallallahu alayhe wa sallam is the Messenger of Allah.

| Topic: Refute Ideas and Not People or Groups Date: Past Seminars Length: 4:38 Minutes Language: Arabic / English Lecturer: Shaykh S’ad Naasir Ash-Shithri |
| Description: We know that from the people that speak are those whose statements are accepted and those whose statements are rejected. And it could be a person is reliable, he is a scholar, we trust him, still we may not accept his statement. So for example, some of the imams of Jar-wa-tadil, their statements are not accepted about their peers. And an example of this is Imam An-Nasaee and Ahmed bin Saleh, both were imams and scholars in their times, they were peer, lived in same time period, both talked about each others, neither ones speech were accepted about other. Also Imam Bukharee, whose sahih we read, some of his peers talked about him. So, we should not be hasty, in accepting everything one person says about the other persons. Because of the necessity of time, Shaykh advised that we protect our tongue in speaking about the honor of the other people, do not mention the name except in dire necessity. We can speak about ideas, belief, and actions but not person’s name except in dire need. Even when it comes to mentioning the groups, sects, jamm'ah etc, it is better to leave of naming them, because when you name them, some people will disregard what you have to say and other groups will stick firmly to that group because it has been spoken about. | |
